The Mutual Bank Chairman, Trevor Robinson, has paid tribute to and offered thanks from the Board and staff to retiring and long-standing Director Bruce Arnott.

Bruce attended his last Board meeting on 29 April after eight years of service.

Trevor said Bruce has been instrumental in steering the bank’s financial and risk corporate governance strategy. Bruce served as Chair of the Audit Committee, and as a Member of the Remuneration and Nomination and the Risk committees.

“Bruce came to the Board as a former Director and Vice Chairman of Phoenix (NSW) Credit Union after its merger with The Mutual Bank,” Trevor said.

“His experience and expertise gained in senior financial management positions in some of the region’s largest companies was a great asset and contribution to the bank’s continued, successful, growth,” he said.

“Bruce’s knowledge and thorough approach will be dearly missed.”

Trevor said the Board, which has had new appointments over the past year, has financial and risk matters well and truly covered and is positioned for further success. Deb Mirisch, appointed as a Director in March 2020, will now chair the Audit Committee.

Trevor said Deb brings more than 25 years of accounting, business, and leadership experience to the Board. She is the Owner and Director of book-keeping and internal accounting firm, Biz Synergy.

Deb is supported not only by the Chairman, Trevor, and his extensive experience in banking and financial services but by Steve Meyn who is also the Chair of PKF Australia and Managing Director of PKF Sydney & Newcastle.

Trevor Robinson, Melinda Smith, Steve Meyn, Deb Mirisch, and Sharon Howes make up The Mutual Bank’s Board of Directors.
