Steve Meyn joined the Board of The Mutual Bank in 2018 and was appointed Chair in 2022. He is a member of the People and Culture Committee, the Risk Committee, the Audit Committee and the Digital and Information Technology Committee.
Steve is Chair of PKF Australia and former Managing Director of PKF Newcastle and Sydney of which he remains a Director. With more than 33 years’ experience and continuing service as an accountant and business adviser, Steve has developed specific expertise in the field of business, governance, IT and strategic planning.
Steve is a Board Member of PKF International and PKF Asia Pacific, as well as an Advisory Board Member to several businesses and local charity, Harry Meyn Foundation Ltd. Born and bred, and still a citizen of Maitland, Steve’s passion is helping others to grow and develop to achieve better outcomes.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Newcastle and is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CA ANZ).
Deb Mirisch joined the Board of The Mutual Bank in 2020 and is Chair of the Audit Committee and is a member of the People and Culture Committee and the Digital and Information Technology Committee.
Deb merged her own business Biz Synergy with Booksmart Accounting Solutions in 2021 to form Beam Bookkeeping, now one of the largest bookkeeping firms in NSW.
With more than 25 years of experience as an accountant, Deb brings a wealth of financial expertise to the Board, along with her in-depth knowledge of the local business landscape.Deb is also a former Director and Honorary Secretary of not-for-profit NDIS registered provider, The Mai-Wel Group.
Deb holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Newcastle, is a Registered BAS Agent, a member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers and the Maitland Business Chamber.
Sharon Howes joined the Board of The Mutual Bank in 2020 and is Chair of the People and Culture Committee and is a member of the Risk Committee.
Sharon is a Partner at Intelligite, a consultancy that specialises in auditing organisational culture, risk culture, conduct, and non-financial risk; and, is Managing Director at business advisory company, AblesonHowes and Associates.
Sharon has had an extensive executive leadership career spanning manufacturing, energy, and resources; in private, listed and government sectors. Sharon also has significant experience as a Non-Executive Director, including over 20 years served in the mutual banking sector in the Hunter Region.
Sharon holds a Bachelor of Science and a Graduate Diploma of Management and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Scott King joined The Mutual Bank Board in May 2023 and is the Chair of the Digital and Information Technology Committee.
Scott has more than 25 years of experience in the banking and finance industry, including as CEO and CFO of Qudos Bank.
Scott has extensive experience in finance, risk management, strategy, and technology and has been a spokesperson, international speaker and commentator for the mutual banking sector across a range of roles.
With deep strategic and operational experience, Scott takes a collaborative approach to problem-solving and decision making.
Scott now manages his own production, media and corporate strategy company. He has extensive experience as a non-executive director, and currently sits on the boards of the National Affordable Housing Consortium Board and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Scott is active in the community in his hometown of Dungog.
A Chartered Accountant with a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University, Scott is a Member of Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
Steve Martinelli joined The Mutual Bank Board in May 2023 and is the Chair of the Board’s Risk Committee and is a member of the Audit Committee.
A senior banking, finance and asset management executive, Steve brings more than 40 years of experience with world-class institutions to The Mutual Bank’s Board, including as CEO of a customer-owned bank.
With experience across multiple international jurisdictions, Steve has specialist expertise in consumer lending products, commercial lending, distribution, strategy and operations.
An experienced non-executive director, Steve now advises start-ups and established businesses on strategy, risk management, business transformation and cultural change.
Steve has a Master of Business (Banking and Finance), is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a Fellow of Finsia. He has also served as a representative on the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia’s National Lending and Broking Committees.
Andre Pinkowski joined The Mutual Bank’s Board of Directors in March 2024.
An experienced founder, CEO and digitally native company Director, Andre’s career has spanned enterprise software-as-a-service, IT consultancy, web, mobile, and digital entertainment.
Andre brings a dynamic new energy to the Board as an inspiring entrepreneurial leader and strategist, having founded, scaled, and sold several high growth companies, leveraging various forms of venture funding.
He is also passionate about the community and is a Board Member of the HMRI Foundation and non-executive Director at Hunter Angels.
Andre is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
